Children & Youth Ministry

Fulp’s 2026 Children’s & Youth Ministry vision is to help kids and teens realize they are known, loved, and growing in Christ through age-appropriate Bible teaching, meaningful relationships, and active service in the community.

Our mission is to help children and teens grow in their faith and discover God’s love in every season of life, from early Bible basics to real-life faith for teenagers.

Wednesday Night Ministries (K-12)

Two Age Groups – One Mission.

  • Group 1: Kindergarten–5th Grade – Focus on Bible basics and Scripture memory through engaging stories, songs, motions, crafts, and games. Children learn foundational truths about God’s love, key Bible stories, and begin forming habits of prayer in a place where they feel encouraged and cared for.
  • Group 2: Grades 6–12 – Focus on life lessons and faith application through honest discussion of topics like identity, friendships, choices, and purpose. Students are encouraged to ask questions, deepen their prayer lives, apply biblical wisdom to everyday life, and discover how to use their gifts for God’s glory.

2026 Events & Outreach

  • Easter Egg Hunt (April 4) – A fun community event with preschool and elementary egg hunts, prizes, a visit from the Easter Bunny, and Resurrection Eggs to point children to the hope and new life we have in Jesus.
  • Vacation Bible School (Psalm 23 Theme) – Kids learn Psalm 23 and discover God as their Good Shepherd through Bible lessons, games, crafts, and a meal served each evening. Each verse is explored in simple, hands-on ways that show how God guides and protects us.
  • Trunk or Treat (October 31) – A safe, Christ-centered alternative to Halloween where church members decorate vehicles, children collect candy, and families enjoy games, photos, music, and optional refreshments. Each child receives a candy bag with church information and a warm invitation to return.
  • Monthly/Seasonal Youth Activities – Planned activities include roller skating, mini golf, a corn maze, a water party during Bible School, a youth rally, and special Christmas traditions such as tree decorating, an English Love Feast, and a Christingle service.

Caring for Our Community

Through partnerships with East Stokes Outreach Ministry, Walnut Cove Healthcare, and Walnut Ridge, children and youth create handmade cards, bookmarks, and room blessing bags for residents. They also help provide clothes, toiletries, snacks, and other essentials for those with no family support, becoming a tangible expression of Christ’s love.

A Heart for Every Child

Director of Children’s & Youth Ministry, Christina Yount, is committed to a ministry where every child is known, loved, and growing in Christ. With nearly 24 years of faithful service, she counts it a joy to watch God at work as children grow into adults.

Prayer Quilt Ministry

A group of women came together, piecing block by block, a Moravian quilt to be donated to our Church’s Fall Bazaar. The interest in quilting blossomed, thus in 2006 the Fulp Moravian Quilt Ministry began its mission. This group of ladies started making prayer quilts with the help of donated sewing machines and fabric. The quilts are made with willing hands and love to give hope and encouragement to those in need of prayer. Since the ministry began in 2006, over 400 quits have been made.

In the process of quilting, strings are added to the quilt. These strings are used to tie knots representing prayers for the individual recipient.

The quilt is dedicated during the worship service. Following worship service, the congregation has the opportunity to tie a knot and say a prayer for the individual recipient. Our hope is that the Prayer Quilt comforts the recipient, both spiritually and physically.

Currently the quilters are Sharon Cline, Sharon Nance, Evonne Marshall, and Dottie Via. If you’d like to join, get with a member to find out how!

Evening Circle

The Evening Circle, or Circle 1, meets at 6:30 PM on the first Tuesday of each month. We either meet at the home of one of our members or in the Fellowship Hall. During our meetings we have fellowship, prayer time, Bible study, go over any old or new business and eat wonderful food provided by each other. We invite anyone who isn’t currently involved with a women’s circle to join us. We are very casual and have a great time every time we get together.

Daytime Circle

The Daytime Circle, or Circle 3, meets at 10:00 AM on the first Tuesday of each month for our meeting time while eating breakfast. We have a devotion, prayer time, and fellowship. We discuss old and new business, plan for meals and services for our shut-ins, as well as scheduling for upcoming events. We also discuss opportunities to work with other groups in the church, such as Women’s Fellowship and other church circles.

Our circle leader is Dovie Montgomery. Linda Montgomery and Phylis Sullivan are our devotional leaders. Charlotte Hawkins is our Circle Treasurer. Ginger Swaim is our Circle Secretary.
